Only the first two students in a family pay bus fees.  The others are free.  If someone is not a regular bus rider, but they need this service in an emergency, the fee is $5.  Subject to surcharge, because of the instability of gas/diesel prices, the bus fee may need to be increased at some point.  We would let you know in advance, if that occurs.  If you need a bus schedule, please call our office.

Lexington Bus Route Change:

New stop added at the shopping centers on the corner of Hwy 78 and Cherokee Rd, Athens.  Morning Stop will be the Piggly Wiggly parking lot at 7:25am.  The afternoon stop will be across the street at Willowood Square at 3:35pm.  This new stop also requires that we change our Winterville stop to the five points area.  The Commercial Bank will be the morning stop and the Athens Bread of Life Church will be the afternoon stop.  The afternoon drop offs for Crawford and Lexington will be about 5 to 10 minutes later with the changes.

Patrols

Each day the ACS patrols faithfully assist bus drivers and other students.  They are assigned the jobs of managing the crosswalk, opening car doors, or helping on the buses.
