Injury Procedures

Typically during practice, Stacey, Tess or Yancey will be available to evaluate injuries and make recommendations regarding treatment and return to play.

After practice hours or for injuries requiring immediate evaluation, call Yancey on his cell phone.  If possible we will bring the athlete to our office.  After business hours, utilizing Regional First Care on Hwy 129 will be the best option.  We have a working agreement with them to do the initial evaluation and follow-up with us to keep continuity of care for our athletes.  They will follow-up with Yancey on the sidelines or in his office as needed.  If you are unable to reach Yancey regarding appointments in the office, please contact Ms. Katherine Moseley for immediate response.  Please identify yourself as an ACS student when you call or go to Regional First Care.

On game nights, at home and away:  Yancey and Stacey will be on the sidelines to immediately evaluate any injuries and discuss with the parents appropriate follow-up evaluation and treatment.  As a physician assistant, Yancey can prescribe any medications and order test as needed.

Over the weekends after games:  if there is a need for evaluation, simply contact Yancey on his cell phone.  If needed, Yancey can fax an order to either hospital for the appropriate x-rays.  At that point you may then proceed directly to the radiology department.  This eliminates the need to visit the emergency room.  Once the x-ray has been done, call Yancey and he can review the x-rays on-line and call you to discuss appropriate treatment options.

As parents, you are in charge of deciding when and where your child receives care.  Our goal is to work as a medical team to provide the best possible care to our athletes.  We want everyone to be healthy and safe before they return to play!
