About Coach Hutch

Coach Mike Hutch has a career total of over 400 wins and has been coaching at  Athens Christian School since 1999.  He coached college baseball for 12 years.  He was an Assistant Baseball Coach at Florida Atlantic University, and he was the Head Baseball Coach at Broward Community College.  He also was a major league scout in the Seattle Mariners Organization for 5 years.  Many of his former players have achieved All-Conference, All-Region, and All-American honors as well as some having played professional baseball.  Coach Hutch played college baseball at Florida International University.  He was selected as “Coach of Year” in Broward County, and was inducted into the Broward Community College “Hall Of Fame”.  At Athens Christian School he has successfully guided the baseball program to three state tournament appearances.

His belief is that at Athens Christian School he has been blessed with quality young men who understand to “Honor God’s Gifts”.

2010 Results:

8A All-Region:

First Team: Tyler Hutch, sophomore:  Shortstop.  Led region in hitting with .625 batting average

Second Team: Ben Russell, Junior:  Pitcher

Honroable Mention: Cameron Fields, Junior: Second Base; Zach Gretsch, Junior: Third Base; Jake Davis, Junior: Outfield

Overall Record for 2010: 11-10, 9-7 region
