About Athens Christian School

Athens Christian School was founded in 1970 by Drs. Buhl and Lois Cummings as an inter-denominational Christian School with 125 students. The school had unusual growth with a present enrollment of over 700 students enjoying excellent, modern facilities. Drs. Buhl and Lois Cummings continue to serve as directors. Their leadership provides over 50 years of educational experience.

The motto of Athens Christian School is Quality Education in a Christian Atmosphere. ACS is accredited by the Georgia Accrediting Commission (GAC); therefore, our graduates are well-received into the college and career of their choice. We have many graduates in the fields of law, medicine, business, government and technology. We are also members of the Georgia Association of Christian Schools (GACS) and the Georgia High School Association which allows our students to participate in music, speech, drama, athletic and Bible quiz competitions. Admissions

Athens Christian School “Provides Quality Education in a Christian Atmosphere” to preschool (K-3 and K-4), Kindergarten, and 1st-12th grades. ACS has been serving the Northeast Georgia community since 1970. Our faculty and staff would like the opportunity to get to know you.

We are accepting applications for all grades at this time; however, some grades are close to filling up so act quickly. We are happy to answer any questions that you have. Schedule a tour or give us a call.  Athens Christian School also excepts international exchange students, and interested families should call or write the main office for admission and fee requirements.

Athens Christian School is located a mile after the Athens Tech campus on the right side of Highway 29 North as you come out of Athens. You should be able to see our entryway (pictured left) on the right side.
