Mock Trial

Janary 27, 2018

The ACS Mock Trial Team had their best day of competition in the young history of the Program. The Mock Trial Eagles came in 2nd Place in the Region 2 Competition, just behind Region Champion Westminster Christian. The Eagles defeated Clarke Central, Oconee County, Meadowcreek, and Jefferson on Saturday, and will now advance to the District Competition on February 17.

Even though the Eagles came in 2nd in overall balloting, they won more individual awards than any other team in the Competition. ACS won 12 individual awards, the most in team history. Since ACS has been competing in Mock Trial, no other team has won 12 individual awards in a single day. The individual award winners were:

  • Daniel MacDonald - 3 Best Lawyer Awards
  • Mary Kate McCrudden - 2 Best Lawyer Awards
  • Michael Broughton - 3 Best Witness Awards
  • John Loveall - 3 Best Witness Awards
  • Henry Heydinger - 1 Best Witness Award

Team: Michael Broughton, Molly Cole, Josh Cummings, Nikaya Gober, Ginny Green, Henry Heydinger, Tristen Huff, John Loveall, Daniel MacDonald, Mary Kate McCrudden, Jessica Mixon, Audrey Ray, Raegan Reinking, Philip Schroeder, Luke Smith, Andrew Stephenson, Joseph Vautour, and Emily Wilkins *Coaches: Scott Crawford and Steve Cummings

Congrats to the Legal Eagles! We wish them the best as they move on to the next level of Competition.
