Eagle Resource Center
Serving Middle &High School Students
Director Pam Kennon, M.Ed.
At Athens Christian School our goal is to see every student equipped to become a successful, confident, independent learner and to assist them in discovering and celebrating their unique God given gifts and talents.
Our program embraces differences, focusing on each individual studentís strengths and weaknesses. It is our desire to provide the needed academic support that is beyond what is being offered in a regular classroom setting.
Students who have a current psycho-educational evaluation and students enrolled in the Georgia Special Needs Program, upon acceptance, will be eligible for this program. Other students may qualify for The Eagle Resource Center as well, per certain circumstances upon teacher/principal recommendation.
Students who qualify may use the ERC as a place for taking tests in a quiet, relaxed, stress and distraction free environment. Students may also receive accommodations such as extra time, test read aloud, and other modifications, where allowed. This may be an option for many Athens Christian students.
Tutoring Services are offered in the ERC on a regular or as-needed basis to ALL students per parent request. Parents may choose a college student as a tutor, a tutor with a Bachelorís Degree or a tutor with a Masterís Degree or higher.
The After School Study Program is offered for students who need or want additional support when completing assignments. This is a fee-based service offered Monday Ė Friday from 3:00-5:30 and will be managed by Mrs. Pam Kennon. The program will focus on completing homework assignments, study skills, writing, and studying for tests. The number of available spaces in this program will be limited and will be filled on a first come basis.
The Eagle Resource Center is a unique mission complimenting the current goal of Athens Christian Schoolóteaching, nurturing and supporting students from a place of individual learning styles.
