Spring Concert

The ACS Music Department is proud to present their Spring Concert this Thursday evening, May 11th at 7:00 pm. This event will include the Middle and High School Choirs, as well as the Middle School, High School, and Concert Bands. This event is FREE, so make sure to invite family and friends, support your fine arts students, and join us for our last concert of the year!

News Release - GHSA One Act Play Competition

The ACS One-Act Play team will compete in the GHSA Region 8 One Act Competition this Saturday, October 29, at Brenau University in Gainesville, GA. 

To commemorate the 400th anniversary of the death of William Shakespeare, ACS will be performing Shakespeare’s popular comedy, As You Like It.  The ACS production sets the story of love and mistaken identity in the American Roaring ‘20’s, taking advantage of the popular music of the time period.  Mrs. Heather Pillsbury composed original musical settings for three of the songs Shakespeare wrote into the play. 

Trey Veal, Olivia Synan, Lee Keely, Taylor Campbell and Henry Heydinger are featured vocal soloists, and the entire cast engages in a lively Charleston to mark the happy ending of the play. 

UDATE: Region Competition was held on October 29 at Brenau University.  The ACS team won 2nd overall!! Taylor Campbell and Henry Heydinger won best actress and actor for the tournament.  Daniel MacDonald and Olivia Synan made all star cast.  It was a great day!

10/27/16 - The ACS drama department announces AUDITIONS for the upcoming mystery theater production Murder on the Orient Express.  Auditions will be held after school Monday and Tuesday, November 7th and 8th.  Callbacks will be Wednesday, November 9th.  Auditioners should be prepared to perform one serious and one humorous monologue from memory, 45-60 seconds each.  Students should schedule their appointment with Mr. Bamford.
