Chorus at ACS

February 23, 2018

The ACS Middle School and High School Choirs participated in the ACSI Choir Festival hosted by Toccoa Falls College on Friday, February 23. Both choirs received superior ratings, as did solists Henry Heydinger and Allie Marchman along with the girls trio Sydney Prince, Tava King and Hannah Smith and the boys quartet Henry Heydinger, Jacob McIntyre, Jared Palmer and Luke Smith. Congratulations to all singers and director Mr.s Pillsbury and accompanist Mrs. Brooks.

ACS Chorus Teacher and ACS Alumnus Heather Pillsbury was recently named the Female Artist/Writer of the Year at the Gospel Music Association Immerse Conference.

2016-2017 ACSI Choral Festival

On March 3rd, the Athens Christian School Middle and High School Choirs received an overall Superior rating at the 2016-2017 ACSI Choral Festival. Superior is the highest achievable score that can be awarded. Athens Christian received Superior from all three judging panels. Pieces performed for adjudication by the Middle School Choir included "In the Name of Music," by Victor Johnson and "Rejoice and Sing," by Rollo Dilworth. Selections for the High School Choir included "May the Road Rise Up," by Jay Rouse, and "Let Everything That Hath Breath" by Jeffery Ames. Soloists Henry Heydinger and Allie Marchman also received Superior scores.
 

 

2016 Honors Chorus

10/17/2016 - Congratulations to ACS Chorus members Taylor Campbell, Camilla Long, Sydney Prince, Olivia Synan, Henry Heydinger, Lee Keely, Jacob McIntyre, and Jared Palmer.  On October 17, these students participated in the Northwest Georgia Choral Festival held at Shorter College.  They work-shopped with university faculty throughout the day and performed in an evening concert with the Shorter University chorales and other honor students from around the state.  Congratulations on your hard work and a job well done!

2/11/2016 - Congratulations to members of the ACS Middle and High School Choirs who competed in the ACSI Choir Festival in Griffin, Georgia. The High School Ladies' Ensemble received a "Superior" rating for their performance at the festival, and both Middle and High School Choirs received "Excellent" ratings.

 

MS & HS Choirs competed February 29, 2015 at Toccoa Falls College. Both choirs received a Superior rating after singing Shine a Little Light and Old Dan Tucker before a panel of three judges. Part of the fun for the day was a trip to the beautiful waterfall on the campus of Toccoa Falls College.
