Twirling News - May 2018

Regional Twirling winners - our region includes Georgia, Florida, & South Carolina.

  • Ally Gamber -- 10-12 year old Regional Strut Champion and Regional Advanced Military Champion. She also came in second in the Miss Majorette of the Southeast.
  • Jocelyn Parker -- 7-9 Regional Military Champion and 2nd place in the Basic Skills Title
  • Caitlin Parker -- Runner up Regional Strut Champion and 2nd place in the Strut Queen Title.

Twirling News - March 2018

Caitlin Parker and Ally Gamber recently attended Twirl Mana competition held at The Wild World of Sports complex at Disney.

They competed against twirlers from all over the United States. Each twirler had about 40 girls competing in their events.

  • Caitlin finished top 10 in military marching and 2nd in baton.
  • Ally finished 3rd in Miss Twirl Mana, 1st place in military march and model, and top 10 in strut & solo.
  • The girls also competed together in Duet and placed top 10.

The Bulldog Classic was held March 3 at Athens Academy gym.

  • Caitlin Parker won Parade Majorette and Military March
  • Ally Gamber won Basic skills – she came in second in Ms. Bulldog Classic and Parade Majorette
  • Together they won Duet!
  • Taylor Williams placed second in basic and military march
  • Jocelyn Parker placed 4th in modeling

Next competition will be STATE in Jesup Georgia. 

February 2018

2/3/18: The competition Eaglette twirlers competed at the Winterfest twirling competition in Auburn, Alabama. There were around 50 twirlers competing. The Eaglettes came away with 22 first places, 8 second places, and 13 third places. Caitlin Parker won Strut Queen, Ally Gamber was named Winterfest Queen and Strut Queen. Ally and Caitlin also competed for the first time as a duet and they took first. Taylor Williams placed 5th in basic skills and Jocelyn Parker placed 4th in the Winterfest Pageant.

August 2017

Freshman Caitlin Parker competed last week in Detroit Michigan at the AAU Jr. Olympics! She came away with 3 gold medals, 1 silver medal, and 3 bronze medals. Caitlin worked hard all summer preparing for the competition.

Summer 2017 Twirling News

Photos 1-2: 2017-18 ACS Majorettes (Caitlin Parker, Molly Cole, True Foley-captain, and Ally Gamber) attended the Southeast Camp of Champions this summer where they worked on material for this seasons half time performances. Caitlin Parker received the award (out of 100 campers) as most outstanding intermediate twirler. Caitlin also qualified to compete at the AAU -Amateur Athletic Union Junior Olympics in August.

Photos 3-6: Twirling is a wonderful sport that not only offers young people physical fitness, self confidence, teamwork, scholarship opportunities, but travel opportunities as well. This spring ACS students (True Foley, Caitlin Parker, Jocelyn Parker), their twirling coach (Paula Resop), and their families were invited to perform in Honolulu Hawaii at the open air international mall. The group spent 7 days enjoying sights such as Pearl Harbor, Waikiki Beach, North Shore, Diamond Head, and the Dole Plantation to name a few.

The girls are looking forward to more exciting opportunities as they continue their twirling careers.
There will be twirling lessons offered at ACS this fall. You do not have to attend ACS to participate.

Miss Majorette of Georgia competition news

4/1/17 -- The ACS Majorettes had a very big twirling competition this weekend: Miss Majorette of Georgia- below are just some of the awards the girls received:
Ally Gamber- 1st place in Novice Basic Skills and Miss Peach State Strut Queen 10-12 division
True Foley- 1st place in Miss Peach State Strut Queen 13-15 division
Caitlin Parker- 3rd in Miss Majorette of Georgia and 4th in Miss Peach State Strut Queen 13-15 division
Jocelyn Parker- 2nd in Miss Georgia Peach model 7-9 division
Taylor Williams- 2nd place in Miss Majorette of Georgia Military March 10-12 division
