ACS Art students Camilla Long-9th grade and Addison Naylor- 4th grade will each loan a piece of their artwork to Athens Regional Hospital for the Peds Painters project.  Along with other schools in the area, their artwork will be on display for 3 months to brighten the halls of the Pediatric Unit. This is the 3rd time ACS students have participated in the Athens Regional project.  

Art Classes

All students currently enrolled in K5 - 8th grade are eligible.  Mrs. Salie has taught art for over 20 years and is a freelance illustrator when not in the classroom.  Her students will study drawing and painting, ceramics, sculpture, printing and textiles in small groups from their grade level.  Classes will meet once a week for the entire year for $45/month, supplies included.  Space is limited and is available on a first come, first served basis.  If interested, please contact the front office for registration information (706-549-7586).

Athens Christian School Art Program"There are so many colors to pick from!"  Mrs. Salie cheerfully demonstrates to the students the different patterns she can create for her winter mittens.
Athens Christian School Art ProgramWe all know art can be a great place to express creativity.  Another great skill that can be learned in art class is precision!  This student outlines her drawing in pencil before filling it in with paint.
Art Program ACSOur state of the art computer lab gives our high school students the opportunity to take classes in Graphic Design.

5/14/2016 - Mary Meagan Kellum, Hannah Smith, and Ally Gamber (pictured left to right with their teacher, Sharon Reid) performed in their end-of-the-year recital Saturday, May 14, at Oconee Presbyterian Church in Watkinsville.  Mary Meagan and Hannah were recognized for Superior ratings at ACSI Festival; Ally and Hannah for Superior's at AMTA (Athens Music Teachers Association) Festival.
2/26/2016 - Tenth grader Hannah Smith and seventh graders, Mary Meagan Kellum and Matt Kierulf, (pictured with their teacher, Mrs. Sharon Reid) earned "Superior" ratings at ACSI Southeastern District Piano Festival Friday, February 26, at Berean Baptist Church in Lilburn. Each student played two selections, a Repertoire from memory and a hymn, in a closed audition setting. ACS was one of eleven schools at the event.
